We’re not even halfway through 2016, and it’s already shaping up to be a good year for Savannah artist, KayDee912. He recently was recently won the award for best R&B/Hip Hop songwriter from The Akademia Awards for the uplifting track called “Free World.”
“I was very excited to be recognized. They’re based in Los Angeles, so this honor is a big deal for someone like myself who comes from a small community,” he said.
According to KayDee912, the track’s them centers around living life to the fullest. However, the song is open to interpretation.
“I use a lot of similes and metaphors. It’s one of those songs that can go any kind of way,” he said, "KayDee912 certainly has no plans to slow down anytime soon. He’s currently in the process of releasing to new singles titled “Loud” and “Summer of ’93.” “I think fans are going to like both songs—especially if they’ve enjoyed my previous music already,” he said. “Whenever I make music, I won’t people to feel inspired in some way. I also want it to make them feel good.”
